A remote, protected stretch of golden sand on the wild Akamas, and one of the Mediterranean's most important turtle nesting sites. Loggerhead and green turtles lay their eggs here in summer, and if you time it right (roughly August to October) you can watch the tiny hatchlings make their dash to the sea. 4x4 access only, kept deliberately wild.
Hermit's cave carved into the cliff above the monastery, with 12th century frescoes the monk painted himself.
Step away from the harbour and find the actual local Paphos. Saturday market, ouzeries, no menus in English.
The island's big waterpark in Yeroskipou: thrilling slides, splash pools and lazy rivers. A guaranteed hit with kids, open April to October.
Out in Pegeia, a lovely half-day out: famous parrot and owl shows, a reptile house, and a playground. Great for families, open year-round.
Home to snakes, lizards, tortoises, crocodiles and more, including Cyprus's own native species. A fascinating, hands-on day for curious kids and a great rainy-day backup. Near the harbour.
A seafront funfair near the hotel strip: bumper cars, carousels, a Ferris wheel and a pirate ship. Free entry, buy tokens for the rides. Evenings only.
Paphos's original dive centre, a PADI 5-star operation running for over 30 years. Try-dives for beginners, full courses, and boat dives out to reefs and caves around the harbour and Geronisos island. Kids welcome.
Jet skis, banana boats, parasailing, paddleboards and pedalos all along the coast, from Kato Paphos and the harbour to Coral Bay and Latchi. Calm, shallow water makes it ideal for first-timers and families. Operators dot the sand all summer.
A shaded natural grotto and pool at the gateway to the Akamas, where the goddess is said to have bathed. Short nature trails lead off along the coast with sweeping sea views. Free to visit.
Head inland to the hill villages of the Paphos wine region, Vouni Panayia, Statos-Agios Fotios and Letymbou, for cellar-door tastings of local Xynisteri and Maratheftiko. A scenic half-day drive from the coast.
The island's flagship 18-hole championship course, carved across two plateaux split by a dramatic ravine. Sea and mountain views from almost every hole, plus a five-star resort and academy. Paphos is Cyprus's golf capital and this is its showpiece.
A serene 18-hole course set 550m up in the hills around a 12th-century monastery, cooler than the coast and wrapped in pine and vineyard. One of the most scenic, peaceful rounds on the island.
