Can you get around Cyprus without a car? Yes, more easily than most visitors expect. Every city has its own bus network: NPT in Nicosia, EMEL in Limassol, LPT in Larnaca, OSYPA in Paphos and OSEA around Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paralimni, with Intercity Buses linking the cities by motorway coach. There are no trains or trams on the island, so buses are the whole public transport story. For villages, wild beaches and the Troodos backroads, a hire car still wins.
The route tables below are rebuilt every day from the official Cyprus public transport open data, so what you see is what is actually running today, including first and last departures. Plan door to door with the official Motion journey planner, watch buses move in real time on BusCyprus, or just use Google Maps, Cyprus bus times are loaded into it.

Each operator sets its own tariff, so fares differ slightly by city. Limassol, Paphos and the Ayia Napa area charge flat fares; in Nicosia and Larnaca cash costs more than the reloadable Motion Bus Card. Fares from the official operator tariffs, last checked August 2026.

Run by NPT, Nicosia Public Transport. The main hub is Solomou Square by the old town walls, with routes fanning out to every suburb and the university.

Cyprus has two airports, Larnaca (LCA) and Paphos (PFO). Both are well connected without a car.
Larnaca Airport: LPT route 425 links the terminal with Larnaca station and the Finikoudes seafront all day and into the night, and intercity coaches stop at the airport on selected runs (€4 to €10 by distance). Paphos Airport: OSYPA route 612 runs to the Kato Paphos hotel strip and harbour, route 613 to Karavella station.
What the airport buses cost: the same as any other city bus, there is no airport supplement. That means €2.70 cash or €2 with a Motion card on Larnaca’s 425, and a flat €2 on Paphos’s 612 and 613.
Direct shuttles: the private Kapnos Airport Shuttle runs Larnaca Airport to Nicosia for €9 one way, and from Paphos Airport to Nicosia or Larnaca for around €15, useful late at night when local buses have stopped. The Limassol Airport Express connects both airports with Limassol for €10 (children €5). Taxis and apps: metered taxis wait at both terminals and Bolt operates island-wide.
How much is a bus ticket in Cyprus?

Is there Uber in Cyprus?
No Uber, but Bolt works in all the main towns and both airports. Village taxis are unmetered, agree the price first.
Should I just hire a car?
